Karankawa's Location
WHERE THEY LIVED
The Karankawa tribe inhabited land by the Texas coastal bend area, like San Antonio bay, Corpus Christi,Galveston Island, and much more that borders the Gulf of Mexico. Living here allowed the Karankawa to retrieve marine life with determination. It gave them an abundance of supplies and food, helping them in many ways. The types of food included, shrimp, fish, and clams, that would last through harsh Texas winters. Coastal wildlife was also plentiful in its natural habitat.
Also along the coast many marshes stretch from Galveston to Matagorda. Many provide underwater vegetation too. The coastline has sandbars closing in faintly deep lagoons. The coastline is made up of bays, lagoons, islands, and mouths of water [deltas].

This place has a warm damp climate, and
along the coast most rainfall occurs in fall.
